The Great Outdoors

We love using our back yard. It's even nicer when we can have people join us for a bar-b-que around the campfire. So, last Thursday we pitched our tent and invited the bishop's twin 7 year old daughters to join us in a camp out in our own back yard. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, caught lightning bugs and played UNO in our tent.

On Saturday, the 25th, we attended the ward pioneer pancake breakfast and activity. Then we picked blueberries at a farm. The day was so beautiful, slightly overcast and nearly perfect for taking pictures. Alyson and Kourtney went to work picking berries. Ellary went to work eating the berries! She also hammed it up for the camera. She is very photogenic! We made raspberry blueberry crisp on Monday, and wow-was it yummy! We will definitely have to go blueberry picking again.

University Activities

We've been taking advantage of being in a University town by attending MSU activities. A few weeks ago, we participated in a family camp out at the University Club. The day started out rainy but cleared up enough to set up our tent and have some fun outside. The girls joined the other children in the group for a parade and games outside. They had a blast. Then we sat around a campfire, roasted marshmallows and talked with other U-Club members. It was a great time!
We also went to the MSU Ag Expo last week. We had cake and ice cream (in celebration of the Ag Expo's birthday), saw lots of trucks and tractors and made crafts . Then the girls got to milk a pretend cow. We also took a hay ride drawn by two enormous work horses.

We are really enjoying living in a university town!
