Go Spartans!

Kris took a trip to Indianapolis last Friday night to see the Michigan State men's basketball team play against Kansas. He had a great time. What's even better is that MSU won. Now the Spartans are playing Connecticut in one of the final four games on April 4th. Yeah! Go Spartans!

Ellary's Wiggle

Ellary has discovered dancing. She wiggles her little tummy side to side and touches it, maybe to make sure she's actually moving or maybe because she likes to feel her body in motion. Here's a video of her dancing (technically wiggling) while playing with her farm magnet.

Our Spring Break Vacation Part 1

We arrived at Sunset Beach, N.C. on Saturday afternoon and hit the beach right away. The day was sunny and warm, but the water was colder than we expected it would be. However, it didn't stop Kris, Alyson and Kourtney from wading in the water and adventuring into the waves. We were happy to return to the beach house that our friends so generously let us use for the week that way we could warm back up after the cool dip!

Another highlight of our vacation was visiting Brookgreen Gardens in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with Faye.

While at Brookgreen Gardens we took a boat through a canal and saw all kinds of wildlife including several alligators, and a lot of turtles and water fowel.

We also watched a wildlife presentation. We saw a milk snake, an opossum and an owl.

We also walked through the Brookgreen Gardens Zoo and saw animals native to the area that had been rescued or relocated for safety puposes (the alligator!)

We spent the next day (Tuesday) soaking up the sun on the beach.

Spring Break in Myrtle Beach

We spent a week long vacation at Myrtle Beach and Sunset Beach over Spring Break. Thanks to some generous friends, we had access to a great beach house within walking distance of the sand and surf. We spent many hours enjoying the warm sun, playing in the sand and wading in the ocean. Here are some pictures that document the second half of our adventure.

This sign was posted next to a golf course about 5 miles from where we stayed. We spotted alligators along the lake banks several days in a row. Here are a few that we saw.

We also took advantage of a foggy morning and took pictures of the girls on the beach.

We spent one afternoon at "Broadway on the Beach", a retail and entertainment area.

Later that day, Faye, a long-time family friend invited us over to her home in Myrtle Beach and prepared a delicious salmon meal for us. The girls also loved making lava cake with her.

We played mini-golf at "Tribal Island" the last full day we were there.

Faye offered to watch Alyson, Kourtney and Ellary for Kris and me so we could have a date night. Kris and I spent an hour and half walking along the beach reminiscing the last time we walked alone on a beach-nearly 10 years ago while we were on our honeymoon in Cancun! Then we went out for dinner.
